Linda, mayor’s wife was the first witness who was brought in during the Testimony. One of the primary reasons for her being called in was because Lizzo had an affair with her husband. Though Linda and Lizzo were mutual friends because of their husband, they did know each other well. Rebecca was the one who revealed this affair by forwarding the chats between Lizzo and Samuel to Linda but surprisingly she was “only hurt that her husband was cheating on her” and did not comment on Lizzo’s involvement in the affair.
The prosecution further questioned her on, “How the relationship has changed after knowing their affair” which compelled Linda to almost break down in tears. She revealed that she had stopped talking to Samuel and mentioned that she attended Rick’s party because of her husband. She didn’t want him to know that she had uncovered the truth between Lizzo and Samuel. She later claimed that she did not consume alcohol during the party and was ‘talking’ to Samuel when the incident took place.
Things were pretty rough on Linda during this testimony as she held back her tears while answering questions related to the affair. Linda stated that she found “The family too perfect” for her and wanted to investigate more. Then she had a plan to get to know Rick better and subtly mentioned that his wife is cheating on him with his close friend. But, Rick didn’t converse much with her and neither did she get more information about his split personality disorder which could have helped the case.
