Is it a murder case? or a robbery case? or both? These are a few of the plethora of questions that need to be answered by the lawyers who are fighting the case of the 'Twin Heist'. With so many twists and turns within the case, following the case itself is close to solving a puzzle. In the case of Twin Heist, Isabella Stone has been accused of not only robbery but extortion, assault and evading the police, one too many charges for anyone being trialed. Evasion is out of the question.
This case which began eight years in 2012, found a new light when evidence showed up after a graveyard was relocated. The evidence points against Isabella Stone, as her DNA was almost a match to the one found at the crime scene. Everything was on a clear path until it was revealed that Isabella has a twin, Elizabeth, from whom Isabella claims to have received the diamonds. Jeff Mezos and James Walter, Elizabeth and Isabella's husbands respectively, claim that Isabella and Elizabeth did not have a healthy relationship with an apparent falling out in the year 2010, two years before the robbery was committed. It is useful to note that Isabella belongs to a much poor background as compared to Elizabeth, who was married to one of the world's richest people.
So is this a case of pure jealousy with Isabella blaming the robbery on Elizabeth who, according to sources, committed suicide on her birthday in the year 2013 only a year after the theft took place? The chances of Elizabeth committing the crime are meager if compared to Isabella if both their financial situations are taken into consideration. What if Isabella murdered Elizabeth to divert all the allegations against herself if they showed up in the future? The chances of Elizabeth and Isabella meeting on their birthday was very high and could easily be used by Isabella to execute her plan. But why would Isabella hide the money in her father's grave? Or was it a plan by Elizabeth to take revenge on Isabella? Whatever may be the case, it is sure that no third person may be involved in the case as the revolver suspected to have been used belonged to the Stone family. Or is this a very clever ploy by some rival of the Stone family?
Of course, all of these are just speculations based on the theory known to the public and the truth will only come out after the legal proceeding takes place wherein the expert witness Jake Peralta would soon be consulted which may lead to some leads in this intriguing case.
