Today's session started with a bang, with the prosecution calling for an expert witness. They brought in the arson investigator, Mr. Richard Miller. He began by answering questions from the prosecution side.
The prosecution side began by asking him, ''to what extent the investigation was conducted.'' To which he replied,'There was a rough scaling of the premises. They extensively searched the canteen area to find the source of the fire'. He said the source of the fire is suspected to be the kitchen area, traces of gasoline were found leading to the kitchen area. Mr. Richard said the premises of the fire suggested it was similar to other cases of arson he has seen. The fire seemed to be restricted to an area, implying that it was a case of arson. He said the electrical panel was burnt because of the fire and the fire was unlikely to have been caused by the panel itself. He claimed his team had found footprints of size 16 in the kitchen.
The questioning was a success providing many relevant answers, speeding up what has so far been a slow courtroom. It is up to the jurors to evaluate the points made to ensure that a fair verdict is delivered.
