Delusional Defense?

Writer: GIIS Law Summit New York Times GIIS Law Summit New York Times

The defense lawyers of the Twin Heist case subpoenaed an expert witness, Jake Peralta, the police officer who had examined the evidence available for the case. Shockingly, the defense impeached their witness within ten minutes, thus wasting court time and collective effort.

Does the defense doubt the credibility of the expert witness or was the defense just delusional during the court session? The defense believes that Detective Jake Peralta has “committed perjury” as stated by Defense Lawyer 1. What will be the outcome of this case? Will Ms. Stone be acquitted or found guilty? Whose side will the jury take? Only time will tell.

Until then, stay tuned for more updates on the New York Times.
